Michael Scott for President of Earth.

For more than a year now, I've watched one episode (at least) of The Office every single night, except for when I'm out late or when I went on holiday. I've liked The Office for a number of years because I'm a huge fan of Steve Carell but this habit started in June 2011, when I was doing my internship in Indonesia.

You see, I lived alone there and my chalet on the island didn't have Internet access (blasphemy, yes) so I knew I had to be prepared for boring nights after my driver dropped me off after work. So I hoarded as many videos and movies as I could from Singapore to keep me entertained and The Office seasons 1-5 made up the biggest chunk of my entertainment cache while being isolated from the world.

I had a routine for the nights I didn't go out with my colleagues or students. Get home, take a nap, soak in the bath tub, eat my delivered dinner while catching up on news via telly, do some work if I have to and end my night with a bunch of episodes of whatever tv show I had brought. Most of the time, it was The Office.

And when my internship ended, the habit continued. It was like I couldn't sleep unless I've watched Michael Scott in action.

In any case, the final season of The Office (season 9) has started airing and I just can't bring myself to watch a single episode. Because once it's over, I know I won't be able to wait for a "next season", no matter how awful those waits are.

It's not enough that Michael left prematurely, now everyone else will be gone, too? I'm not prepared to journey through life The Office-less!

Getting over this is gonna be real hard.

OMGoodness, you worked in a "that's what she said" joke!!! Ahahaha!

On the bright side, the show will live on in re-runs for years. I laugh every time I hear Dwight say Mose "doesn't know how to use a phone"...and a hundred other great lines.

Thanks for providing a link to one of my favorite comments (cuz it's all about me). :)

I only watched Season 7, it was funny. I remember your DEVASTATION when Michael announced he's leaving!

@Ric: LOL! I think Michael was Steve Carell's best role and I'm just so sad to see him go.

(Seriously though, how does one carry on without Dwight's facts about bears and beets!??)

At first, I really thought that The Office is another boring comedy show (lol, never thought comedy and boring in one sentence). To my surprise, I got hooked. Michael Scott, i know left seasons ago, will be missed. Include Dwight, too.
