Никола́й

A very special person to me has just returned to Singapore. The last time I saw this guy was about three years ago, and while that may not seem like a long time, it seemed like a lifetime in my mind.

Nicolai left the country just like that; without completing his degree, without telling me. I'm not saying that he had to tell me but the last time we spoke, I was a complete piece of shit to him and I was finding the right time to apologize (Yes, forgiveness is very important to me!). When I found out that he left, it was too late.

In any case... He called me when he arrived in Singapore to say hi and that we should meet up soon and I blurted "I missed you." Hah.

Let me hit you with one of the age-old questions:

Is it better to have said something and regretted it,
or not saying anything and wishing that you had?

Well three years ago I said a few things to Nicolai that I definitely regret,
and when he left I realized there were many good things I wanted to say but didn't.

Now he's back in the flesh and it seems like I've been given another chance to make it right. BUT on the same vein, he doesn't seem to hate me anymore so I don't know if I should rake up the past by apologizing.

"I missed you" sounds like a good start, though, doesn't it?

Awww hey gorgeous! I say, it is never too late to say I'm sorry. You could tell him I'm sorry and I miss you! And well just end it with that and start a whole new adventure together now that he is back in town. It is better to make up for lost times and make more beautiful memories together. =)

aku mau tau his reply when you said that.

and it appears "not saying anything and wishing that you had" is a better option, si?

@Putra: He said "I missed you, too. Can I call you again sometime?" LOL.

y si. That seems better. it's always easier to say something new than to take back what you already said.

That sounds sweet :) I guess it depends on you. Ever noticed how when boys fight they get over it almost immediately after? Unlike us girls, who can go on ignoring one another for months, even years! If he has already forgotten about it, then that's well and good, but if you really feel the need to apologize, then do so :)

I have kinda the similar situation though.. Remember the guy I broke up with for Dane? We were together for almost four years but I broke his heart. Anyway, he left the country last week to work abroad, and I didn't even get to see him. Guess what, that's when I realized he is probably the love of my life. I was shattered but couldn't concentrate about my 'shatteredness' because I had to focus on my new job. I'm just thankful I have a lot of things to keep me occupied now so I get less lonely. I emailed him to confess what I felt, and he said he still cares about me. IDK. Sigh.

Good luck to us, Nashe. BTW, I miss you!

@Krissy: I bet he's already forgotten about it! but yes, I still do feel bad. I'm thinking I should just casually toss in an apology in a conversation and see how re reacts.

Sorry to hear about the man abroad. I hope things work out some how.

The fact that he called you (and wants to call again) says a lot. He wants you in his life. But it doesn't mean he forgot, just that he's over it. Since it's bothering you, I think it would be better to say something...my guess is he'll appreciate it.

I think you're right to want to apologize casually. Just slip it in. If Nico wants u to elaborate or he wants to talk more about it then u should. If not perhaps he doesn't want to rake up bad memories either.
