I am insensitive to your feelings. Haha.
I suppose my peers are at that age where every other person is going overseas to pursue their education. If it isn't a Degree/Masters, it's an exchange program. My Facebook feed is filled with a dozen people's pictures of themselves in 50 different places. It is also filled with nonsensical shit from 27 friends WHOSE boyfriends are abroad.
"Bryan has landed safely in Hong Kong!!!"
"A part of me is in Swinburne. Come back soon, Paul. I love you <3"
"Only God knows how much my heart breaks to see you leave, Martin."
"My baby won't be back til summer :( I'll still b here when u return, John."
..etc etc
How far my eyes can roll, I'll never know.
You miss him. I totally get it, but geez. He'll be back, dammit. Dude's only going away to study for a couple of years. I know a few people whose significant others are away in friggin Afghanistan for an indefinite period of time and they're not posting a thousand status updates about how the separation is oh-so-hard for them. They're not posting a million pictures of every one of the days spent together before he heads out again.
Everything's getting fucking ridiculous.
I know it's hard, okay? Everybody knows it can't be that easy. But it's not.that.big a deal. And I can only be so sympathetic about your horrible plights when you're updating all your statuses every damn day about that guy nobody else cares about.
Is it a long-distance relationship or not? If you cannot handle it, end it. If you can, then shut your trap and work on that awesome love. It's really not necessary to include us innocent bystanders in your cheesy shit. Keep it to a nice minimum and quit being a whiny litte idjit.
I could expand this post with five more paragraphs but I think you get the point.
PS;
oh I love it how some people think I'm just saying all this because I've never had my man go away for a really long time. Seriously? Fuck you.
C'est tout.

I hate it when people do those electronic displays of affection. It's like they just want to announce to the whole world that they have someone.
I don't have FB but I can imagine that sort of online adoration. People should know that the world doesnt rly care about their 'better halves' like they do.
@ Chloe: Yeah exactly. It's just not classy!
@ Ortega: You know it. Where have you been, Ortz? Long time no talk. ^^
Well said! I hate people like that too! It's like, get over it already!
overcheesy virtual public displays of affection sicken me. period.
I just look at it as some sad cry for attention or sympathy or something.
It makes me tempted to just start writing things like "I once knew a guy who moved there. He said it was pretty rough, and then he got murdered. Seriously though, I hope it doesn't happen to your boyfriend. I mean, it probably won't. I guess you can never be sure though"
i'm sure the more you roll your eyes, the more sappy status updates come up, which brings you back to further eye rolling.
but yeah, that's why i don't do long distance. i have the tendency and i hate it.
@ ScoMan: DO IT.
@ Ejannz: At least you know yourself, right? Ughh these people.
I'm in LDR too (but yeah it's not that long) but I never update my fb status or upload many pictures about BF. I'm also sick of Facebook or Twitter Display Affection. I often clicked the unfollow button for some people who like tweeting cheesy things. I sometimes did too in Twitter, but (I hope) I'm not too cheesy, mostly only in PMS times *forgive me* xD
It's better, if they sent personal messages to each other, that's for sure.
But you also have the 'hide' function on FB, you won't see their updates and they won't even know it. :)
Hahahhaa. Love this post. So true! After a while you just wanna sock 'em goood in the face!
As you would say... CALLED IT!
d: ,
@ Rika: You don't do it the way these people do, it's alright. The way they go on about it...i feel like choking myself.
@ MKL: Exactly! And I do use the Hide function sometimes. Can'r be bothered anymore. :\
You said it, girl! Although I understand if a status like that comes up once or so, but every friggin day is a bit much.
And you know what's worse? People who say "Don't talk to me, I'm in a bad mood" on Facebook. I mean if you're in an anti social mood DON'T comment on a social networking site.
Maaaak irritating siol. Hahahah diorang tak tau...yang paling pro dalam LDR ni kau! XD
@ Ayu: After a while it's plain annoying.
@ Nahl: Yeah that, too! On MSN/YM as well... Why bother appearing online if you're not gonna entertain people who wanna talk?!?
@ Fairuz: Eh jangan cakap ah... haha :D
HAHAHA Soooo true! I hate those updates too, it is like really? Who cares besides you? lol
/likes this post
HAHAHA ok ok and yeah these ppl are treating fb like twitter!
Is it a long-distance relationship or not? If you cannot handle it, end it. If you can, then shut your trap and work on that awesome love
EXACTLY. You are so on point. I love this post. Esp tt paragraph. I hate it wen people act like they're going thru total hell when its just a LDR. Stop babying &get over it!
@ Sheri: "really? Who cares besides you?" That made me laugh! xD
@ Kam: Uh huh, I can't imagine what their Twitter pages would look like. *shivers*
@ Anon.: You know they should! :D
Thanks for reading.
i like how the names of your friends there are bryan, paul, martin and john. ;D
girrrrrl you are synical and insensitive and I LOVE IT!!! i'm the same way when it comes to people like that. haha.
I hate cheesy updates on fb too, there is so much to say about it..I have a 'friend' who updates just to say how much she loves her bf or cheesy things like 'the sky is less blue when you're not with me'. Seriously, can somebody muzzle her ? There are those people posting billions of photos of them with their bf kissing. That's just disgusting. I mean, are they going to put their sextape online too ? Some of my former friends think I'm an heartless bitch because I hate that kind of stuff...I just think that you can be as cheesy as you want, but not in public. I'm gonna stop here, or this comment will look like a novel :p
I'm completely subjective about this. If I really like the person, it doesn't bother me.
@ Masth: Tu aimes, huh.
@ bananas: There's no other way to feel about them!! XD
@ Carine: Yeah, they're annoying like that! And no worries, I like novel-ish comments :D
@ Rick: You're a saint.
Ugh, I hear ya. People like that are fucking privileged to travel, stop bitching.
Not just this, I can't stand constant lovey dover crap in general. For real. We don't need to read that much PDA.
Hahahaha!!! And yet I can be a jerk to people who I "judge" to deserve it. =)
I get it with the miss you or love you updates, i think that's cute.but "he has landed in hong kong"?who cares?what?your own life is so lame you gotta post boring updates about someone else?spare me!
@ Carina: Yeah, I think that one was the lamest! The person himself doesn't post his own updates, but there you are, updating for him? Lame.
Oh gosh, i know right?! It's annoying when every single day they have to announce it on facebook or every minute it's like, "waiting for my love to come online..."chatting with my love now..." "missing my baby". oh puhleez... we all get the picture darn it. hehehehe
IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE BLOGGED HARD ABOUT THIS! I'm so glad you did it :)) It's just an LDR, lots of ppl do it! Stop being irritating abt it.
HAHA! I agree! But I usually block those people who make my eyes roll.
I hate stupid nonsensical status updates on facebook especially when they are about significant others. SHUT THE EF UP!
good one missy =)
bwahahahaha that pic.. LOL that movie is too much!
