I bumped into an old friend recently. Dayum, she looked the same but different, if you get what I mean. And like what old friends do when they meet, we started talking about the past. Haha. And I can't believe the things she said.

"I remember when some of the the seniors wanted to ask you out but got scared. They kept talking to me about you."

Bite me. I had no idea anything like that was going on. And thanks for telling me this only now. Haha. Apparently they're scared of being rejected by the Alpha woman.

Me! The Alpha female! How bout that... It was news even to myself. But since no one from our school was particular appealing to me, I think that was okay. If those guys don't like the Alpha female and labeled me one, then fine by me. I'll hold out for someone who does.
I don't think it's a matter of them not liking the Alpha female; it's about them not being able to handle one. Right?

That said, I'm still not an Alpha female. The guys here are just too Beta to realise it.

Anyway, I met another old friend yesterday. We go way back.. but lost touch when we were 13. She told me she didn't enrol herself in any pre-University institution, so that she could help out with her family's finances. She doesn't know it, but she's made me see how blessed I am to not have to go her way.

There I was, complaining about having to trudge through piles of good literature and whining about having to study at McDonalds , while somewhere else, a friend of mine struggled with a lame clerical job to help her parents put food on the table.

We couldn't chat long coz she had to rush home to tutor her siblings. She wished me luck with getting into Uni and I wished I could tell her the same thing.
