Owellz..

Turn away to say goodbye
with each and every word that passes by
like a distant memory.
And time keeps slipping away
and time will turn to grey
and time will be the one who holds you down.

I just noticed that almost all my schoolmates had an entry or two about officially graduating from JC. (The Grad ceremony happened like...weeks ago) About the nostalgia and how much they'll miss this and that.

I don't see what the huge kerfuffle was all about. It's not like we 'graduated-graduated' with mortar boards and college robes or any of that collegiate shit. We're still coming back to the damn school for our exams anyway - which, may I add, aren't gonna be over anytime soon.

I was wondering why I never felt anything, when I realized it's probably coz I'll hardly miss anything about the place.

From the fucked up inconvenient location, to the way we have to trudge through a godforsaken field whenever we're late, to the walkways and corridors that hardly have any shelter from the rain, the way it takes a lifetime to get from one block to another, the tiny lecture theatres, the atrocious food.. from the way people expect something in return for their friendship to the way your own friends can't accept your flaws, all the hypocritical bullshit... what's there for me to miss?

I'm being harsh, je sais. And perhaps, I'm speaking for myself. I tried loving the school; I really did. But obviously fate had other plans. One on hand, it sucks. On the other, I'm grateful that I was thrown into the darkest pit considerably early in my life.

I'm leaving with only distant memories of all the fun times being a college kid, and only a handful of solid friends. I appreciate those schoolmates who have given me a boost when I needed it, but I know I can't rely on them all the time. Being in i*J has taught me a lot, but lets just say the bigger portions of education didn't come from inside the classroom.
